This recent development in the Abia State political landscape has sparked discussions and debates among political observers.

The withdrawal of automatic tickets for Peter Obi and Governor Alex Otti by the Labour Party has left them with two options: join other political parties or contend with rival politicians in their already divided party.

Hon. Chijioke Chukwu, a former Minority Leader of Abia State House of Assembly, has weighed in on this matter.

He has expressed his support for the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, who had earlier called on Governor Alex Otti to join the All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to Hon. Chukwu, RT hon Benjamin Kalu's position aligns with hon Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour's statement that the Labour Party will take over Lagos State from the APC in 2027.

It is interesting to note that there seems to be a common sentiment among politicians across different states in Nigeria.

Both RT hon Benjamin Kalu and hon Rhodes-Vivour believe that their respective parties will gain power in the next elections.

This demonstrates the growing confidence and ambition of political leaders who are seeking to expand their party's influence beyond its current stronghold.

The withdrawal of automatic tickets by the Labour Party for Peter Obi and Governor Alex Otti raises questions about the party's internal dynamics and strategy.

It is evident that there are divisions within the party, and this move may further widen those divisions.

With the option of joining other political parties or staying and facing rival politicians within the Labour Party, both Obi and Otti will have to carefully consider their next move.

This recent turn of events in Abia State politics highlights the ever-changing nature of Nigeria's political landscape.

It emphasizes the need for politicians to constantly reassess their strategies and alliances in order to stay relevant and maintain their political clout.

As 2027 approaches, it will be interesting to see how these political players navigate the intricacies of party politics and forge alliances to secure power.

Ultimately, the decisions made by Peter Obi and Governor Alex Otti will have a significant impact on the political landscape of Abia State and the nation as a whole.

Will they choose to join other political parties in pursuit of their ambitions, or will they stay and fight within the Labour Party?

Only time will tell, but one thing is for certain - the political dynamics in Abia State are far from static, and there are bound to be more surprises and twists in the coming months.

Captain Ndukwe's promotion is a significant milestone, not only for him but also for his hometown of Item in Bende Federal Constituency Abia state and the entire nation of Nigeria.  It is a proud moment for our country to see one of our own reach such a prestigious rank in the U.S. Navy. As part of this initiative, the Deputy Speaker's office plans to establish an International Education Commission to enhance educational excellence and international cooperation.  Rt hon Benjamin Kalu believes that education should be treated as an export commodity for Nigeria, just like other popular destinations for Nigerian students. Recent data from the Central Bank of Nigeria shows a decrease in the amount spent on foreign education by Nigerians, highlighting the need for a legislative roadmap to boost the educa

However, instead of interpreting this gesture in a positive light, Hon Obi Aguocha chose to twist the narrative and launch a scathing attack on Rt Hon Benjamin Okezie Kalu.  His unguarded utterances were clearly aimed at creating mischief and misleading the public, all in an attempt to score cheap political points and remain relevant in Abia state politics. 1. *Setting the Record Straight: South East Development Commission (SEDC) Bills*

Following President Bola Tinubu's signing of the SEDC bills into law, members of the House of Representatives have refuted claims by Deputy Speaker Hon. Benjamin Kalu of being the sole sponsor of the bill.

*The actual originators of the bill were Hon. Chukwuma Onyema (8th National Assembly) and Hon. Henry Nwawuba (9th Assembly).*

When the bill failed to pass in the 9th Assembly, *it was re-introduced in the 10th Assembly by Hon. Enwo Iduma Igariwey, Deputy Chairman of Appropriation and member representing Afikpo/Edda federal constituency.* Igariwey mobilized colleagues and obtained signatures from 43 House members, *including the Deputy Speaker, who was respectfully listed first among the sponsors*.

It's embarrassing for House members and supporters to see the Deputy Speaker claim solo sponsorship. The least expected was acknowledgment of South East Representative members' and others' efforts. Many have expressed dissatisfaction with the Deputy Speaker's claim, likening it to a football captain taking sole credit for a goal, ignoring teammates' contributions.

In teamwork, every member contributes to success, regardless of role or position. Acknowledging individual efforts strengthens team bonds and fosters unity. Let's recognize that teamwork is about collective effort, not individual glory. By doing so, we promote mutual respect, trust, and shared success.

*It was a teamwork effort, initiated by Hon. Igariwey and others, who involved Kalu as a leader.*

*Let's set the record straight and give credit where it's due.*
