As the world celebrates the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) on this yearโ€™s Eid-el-Maulud, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon Benjamin Kalu, has extended his warm regards and felicitations to all Muslims worldwide.

In a statement, Rt. Hon Benjamin Kalu urged Muslims to reflect upon the teachings of the Holy Prophet and embody the virtues of love, patience, tolerance, and perseverance in their daily lives. 

He emphasized the importance of these spiritual values in building a harmonious and peaceful society.

Rt. Hon Benjamin Kalu also called for prayers for unity and progress in the country, reassuring citizens that the federal government, led by the able hand of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is working tirelessly to improve the lives of all Nigerians.

Despite the challenges faced by the country's economy, Kalu urged the people not to lose hope. 

He reiterated that the House of Representatives, under the leadership of Abbas Tajudeen, is committed to supporting the government's efforts by enacting relevant legislations that will boost the economy and enhance the standard of living for all.

In conclusion, Rt. Hon Benjamin Kalu wished all Muslims a joyous and fulfilling Eid-el-Maulud celebration. 

As we honor the birth of the Holy Prophet, let us all strive to embody his teachings and contribute to the betterment of society.

This significant development was initiated by Rt Hon. Benjamin Kalu, a member of the House of Representatives representing Bende Federal Constituency, Abia and the current Deputy Speaker of the house of reps.  On February 22, 2024, the Senate unanimously passed the bill, thus concurring with the earlier action taken by the House of Representatives.
