The deputy speaker of the house of representatives, Rt Hon Benjamin Kalu, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Miss Onyinyechi Mark, a proud daughter of Abia State, for securing Nigeria's first gold medal at the 2024 Paralympics. 

Onyinyechi Mark emerged victorious in the women's 61kg powerlifting competition, setting a remarkable new world record in the process.

This remarkable achievement is a true testament to Onyinyechi's resilience, determination, and unwavering courage. 

Her dedication and hard work have not only brought immense honor and pride to our nation but have also served as an inspiration to all Nigerians, especially women.

Onyinyechi's success on the world stage serves as a reminder of the incredible strength and capabilities of Nigerian women. 

Her achievement is a shining example of what can be accomplished through hard work, perseverance, and a never-give-up attitude.

As we celebrate Onyinyechi's historic win, it is important to also recognize and commend all the other Nigerian athletes who are representing our country with pride and determination at the 2024 Olympics.
