Rt hon Benjamin Okezie Kalu advocates for promoting cross-border education through collaborative efforts with government agencies, education stakeholders, and other relevant bodies.
His goal is to establish a legislative framework that will drive sustainable growth in the education sector.
As part of this initiative, the Deputy Speaker's office plans to establish an International Education Commission to enhance educational excellence and international cooperation.
Rt hon Benjamin Kalu believes that education should be treated as an export commodity for Nigeria, just like other popular destinations for Nigerian students.
Recent data from the Central Bank of Nigeria shows a decrease in the amount spent on foreign education by Nigerians, highlighting the need for a legislative roadmap to boost the education sector.
To achieve this, Osobase Ehizua, a Senior Legislative Aide to the Deputy Speaker, is leading efforts to develop a long-term plan for transnational education in Nigeria.
Through this plan, the aim is to not only support the growth of the education sector but also strengthen bilateral relations and promote education as an exportable service to contribute to the country's GDP.
As part of this process, the Deputy Speaker's Office has invited relevant stakeholders and organizations to join in developing a new strategy for transnational education in Nigeria.
This will include consultations to establish the International Education Commission, which will focus on improving regional education, developing market strategies, and ensuring the safety of Nigerian students studying abroad.

In a video that has since gone viral on social media, the deputy speaker can be seen making a friendly gesture towards the governor of Abia state, suggesting that he should return to his former party, the APC. However, instead of interpreting this gesture in a positive light, Hon Obi Aguocha chose to twist the narrative and launch a scathing attack on Rt Hon Benjamin Okezie Kalu. His unguarded utterances were clearly aimed at creating mischief and misleading the public, all in an attempt to score cheap political points and remain relevant in Abia state politics. It

With a population of over 385 million and a combined GDP of over $1 trillion, ECOWAS plays a crucial role in promoting economic integration, peace, and stability in the region. In order to effectively carry out its mandate, the organization relies heavily on a well-managed, transparent, and accountable budget. And this is precisely why the ECOWAS Joint Committee on Administration, Finance and Budget, Public Accounts, Macroeconomic Policy, and Economic Research has kicked off a four-day meeting under the theme: “The Role of the ECOWAS Parliament in Community Budget Formulation and Monitoring”.
