Today, the deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon Benjamin Okezie Kalu, marked his 53rd birthday in a truly remarkable way in his country home in Bende Abia State.

Instead of having a lavish celebration with his political peers, he chose to spend the day with those in society who are often overlooked and marginalized - the less privileged.

With a heart full of compassion and a desire to make a real impact, Rt Hon Benjamin Okezie Kalu spent his special day with individuals who are often forgotten and pushed to the sidelines - the handicapped, the physically challenged, students from the School of the Blind, inmates of the Motherless Babies Home, pensioniers and widows from Abia State.

The occasion was a true representation of love and humility as dignitaries from across Abia State joined the deputy speaker to celebrate his birthday and show their support for this noble cause.

It was a moment of somber reflections as everyone present took a moment to appreciate the importance of giving back to the less privileged in society.

Rt Hon Benjamin Okezie Kalu was not only a guest of honor at this event, but he also played an active role in making it a success.

The deputy speaker presented gift items to the less privileged, including bags of rice, spaghetti, soaps, mattresses, and even grants to support them in their daily lives.

His generosity was truly heartwarming and a testament to his commitment to serving the people of Bende Federal Constituency, Abia State and Nigeria.

The celebration also included singing and dancing with the less privileged, reminding everyone present that joy can be found in the simplest of moments. It was a beautiful sight to see the deputy speaker joining in and spreading happiness among those who are often forgotten by society.
