On Tuesday, the deputy speaker of the Nigerian House of Representatives welcomed a delegation from the Nigerian Institute of Surveyors (NIS), led by its President Surveyor Dr. Matthew Ibitoye, in Abuja.
The meeting, on behalf of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon Tajudeen Abbas Ph.D, was received by the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon Benjamin Okezie Kalu.
The discussions focused on the significant contributions of the institute to the economic development of Nigeria, as well as the challenges they currently face.
The Nigerian Institute of Surveyors has been a key player in the advancement of land administration and resolution of land disputes in the country.
Their expertise and efforts have been vital in the development of our nation's infrastructure and economy.
It is no surprise that the House of Representatives, through its Deputy Speaker, commended their work and encouraged them to continue their efforts.
Rt. Hon Benjamin Okezie Kalu specifically highlighted the need for the NIS to develop a strategic land mapping framework.
