The deputy speaker of the house of representatives Rt hon Benjamin Okezie Kalu congratulates Mr Tunde Onakoya for Breaking the Guinness world record for playing chess for the longest hours in history.

One of the key criticisms of the previous act was its lack of clarity on loan purpose, eligibility criteria, application methods, repayment plans, and loan recovery.  These shortcomings hindered the effectiveness of the student loan program and limited its impact on expanding access to higher education for Nigerian youth.  The new amended act seeks to rectify these issues and provide a more sustainable approach to higher education and skill development.
