Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon Benjamin Okezie Kalu, has been at the forefront of efforts towards securing the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the incarcerated leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

In recent weeks, Kalu has intensified talks with President Bola Tinubu, in a bid to secure Kanu's freedom.

In a recent interview on the programme "Ben Kalu's Mandate" on Flow FM, Umuahia, Abia State, monitored by Igbo Patriots Magazine, the Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Speaker, Livinus Nwabughogu, shed some light on the ongoing discussions between Kalu and President Tinubu.

Nwabughogu emphasized that Kalu has been handling all the assigned tasks with utmost care and determination, with the sole focus of securing Kanu's release from the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS).

It is evident that Deputy Speaker Kalu is not resting until Kanu is freed, as he has personally made several visits to President Tinubu and engaged in talks with him.

Nwabughogu expressed his confidence that these efforts would bear fruit in the near future, bringing much-needed relief to Kanu's supporters and the entire South

East region.

Amidst the ongoing uncertainty and tension surrounding Nnamdi Kanu's detention, Rt Hon Benjamin Okezie Kalu has called on the people of the South East to remain patient and maintain peace.
