The establishment of the South East Development Commission by president Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a bill sponsored by the deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon Benjamin Kalu, is a significant step towards addressing the developmental challenges facing the South East geopolitical zone of Nigeria. 

This initiative has the potential to bring about numerous benefits to the region and its people.

One of the key benefits of the South East Development Commission is that it will provide a platform for targeted and coordinated development efforts in the region.
