Some major roads in the South-East states of Anambra, Imo, Enugu and Abia states remained deserted on Monday while some businesses were also shut in observance of the sit-at-home despite a counter-directive from the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu. Kanu, the detained IPOB leader, had last Friday through a release by IPOB, suspended the sit-at-home except on court trial days in order not to affect the economic and business lives of the South-Easterners. However, most towns in the South-East still observed the sit-at-home as some major roads were deserted as businesses remained shut. “Everywhere looks deserted from busy streets to major market roads. One of them is the Aba-Port-Harcourt Road in Abia State. It is quite scanty. No movement,” an observer stated. Veteran Nigerian rapper, Okechukwu Edwards Ukeje, popularly known as Mr Raw, escaped death when he survived a ghastly motor accident in Abuja, on Saturday August 14 2021. Taking to his Instagram handle, he shared photos from the scene of the accident and the hospital where he received treatment for injuries he got from the accident. He captioned the photos. "Thank God for my life o!. It's a blessing being alive in the land of the living. I was involved in a ghastly motor accident early this morning at abuja (before Bannex junction)....
