Bende Federal Constituency Celebrates Historic Reconnection to National Grid

Yesterday marked a significant milestone for the residents of Bende Federal Constituency as Rt Hon Benjamin Kalu officially commissioned the reconnection of several communities to the National Grid. 

This momentous occasion effectively ends years of darkness and uncertainty for the people who have long endured the challenges of inadequate electricity supply.

For years, the communities within Bende Federal Constituency have faced numerous obstacles in their quest for reliable power. 


Multiple attempts to restore electricity were thwarted by a range of issues, including technical constraints and the persistent theft and vandalism of critical infrastructure. 

However, despite these setbacks, Rt Hon Benjamin Kalu remained steadfast in his commitment to the people, refusing to relent in his efforts to bring light back to these communities.

In his address during the commissioning ceremony, Rt Hon Kalu expressed his delight in fulfilling the promise he made to the constituents. 

"With the restoration of power, businesses will no longer be forced to shut down at night, economic activities can thrive, students can study under better conditions, and families can enjoy an improved quality of life," he stated. 

The reconnection to the National Grid is not just a technical achievement; it represents a new dawn for the residents, who can now look forward to a brighter future.

This recent development follows the successful commissioning of a solar power project just weeks ago, showcasing Rt Hon Kalu's commitment to diversifying energy sources and ensuring that the challenge of electricity is steadily becoming a thing of the past.
