Mercy Uwakwe Foundation Distributes Food Items in Abia (Photos)


A renowned Non-governmental Organization in Nigeria, Mercy Uwakwe Foundation in collaboration with Mercy Wave Conglomerate have on the 17th of July 2020 commenced the 3rd phase of its palliative program tagged "3rd Mercy Wave Palliative Outreach". The outreach commenced at Bende Local Government Council Headquarters in Bende Local Government Area of Abia state.


During the outreach and palliative distribution exercise of the 3rd Mercy Wave Palliative Outreach, the Team Mercy Uwakwe Foundation distributed several food items and relief material to people living across Bende LGA. Some of the distributed items include, bags of rice, cartons of Spaghetti, bags of beans, cartons of Noodles, amongst others.

Speaking to State Press during the outreach program, the Father of the Founder, His Royal Highness Eze Uwakwe Ukaegbu (Ofufu 2 of Amaofufu Igbere), noted that the 3rd Mercy Wave Palliative Outreach was in-view of the foundation's commitment to support vulnerable households and individuals amidst the challenges created by the recent Covid19 pandemic lockdown across cities and states in Nigeria, as it is also in line with Mercy Uwakwe mandate to to alleviate poverty.

So far, over 13wards in Bende Local Government Area of Abia state has benefitted from the noble benevolence and humanitarian care of Mercy Uwakwe Foundation. Beneficiaries who spoke with our reporters expressed appreciation to the Foundation and applauded their concerns towards assisting residents of Bende LGA, stressing that their kindness was most needed, especially to relax the challenges which the Covid19 pandemic lockdown may have created.

The 3rd Mercy Wave Palliative Outreach commenced few weeks after its previous palliative outreach on the 6th of July 2020 in Igbere Community, where it distributed cash and other food items which also included bags of rice, spaghetti, etc to residents of Igbere community.

improving the quality of human life and dignity by implementing programs that leverage on 
technology and community participation to promote good health, ensure quality education, and improve the economic wellbeing of children, youths, the vulnerable and the less privileged.
