IPOB PARTNERS WITH AMBAZONIA

The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, and a pro-independence movement in western Cameroon, ‘Ambazonia Governing Council’ (AGovC), have agreed to exchange weapons and personnel to help them achieve their common goals “Freedom”. Created in 2012 by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, IPOB had over the years condemned the Nigerian government for its poor investment, inequitable resource distribution, marginalization, and heavy military presence in the region. The group therefore demanded for the restoration of an independent state of Biafra in the South East through an independence referendum. On its part, AGovC, fights to carve out Cameroon’s English-speaking Northwest and Southwest regions into a breakaway state called Ambazonia. Grievances of Anglophone Cameroonians date back to 1961, when the region was granted independence from Britain. However, forming alliance with each other, Foreign Policy, an American news publication, said: “The scope of the alliance will include joint operations and training ba

PLANS TO POSTPONE APC CONVENTION DEVIDES PARTY

There is uproar in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) over alleged plots by some party bigwigs to extend the timeline allotted to the Governor Mai Mala Buni-led Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee and shift the party’s national convention beyond June. There are concerns that 44 days to the expiration of the interim committee’s timeline, it is not yet ready to organise the national convention and congresses to elect a new crop of leaders at various levels. The Buni-led committee was inaugurated on June 25, 2020, and given the mandate to administer the affairs of the party for six months within which to organise a national convention. This followed the dissolution of the Adams Oshiomhole-led National Working Committee (NWC) over alleged abuse of office. The National Executive Committee (NEC), which is the second highest decision-making organ of the party, later in December 2020, extended its timeline by six months. But a statement issued by the Secretary of the

UNKNOWN GUN MEN BURN DOWN BENDE POLICE STATION HOURS AFTER NNENNA UKEJE'S VISIT. .....As Bende youths decry the sharade of the over hyped civic reception. The much talked about civic reception has come and gone and indeed it has attracted the good, the bad and the ugly to Bende LGA headquarters. The civic reception which was organized by PDP party faithfuls in honor of hon Nnenna Ukeje was a big source of discomfort to indigens and residents of the area as the hired crowd which came in buses from different parts of Abia State caused a stir and became a source of worry to the people of the area. The civic reception had in attendance, a faction of the PDP in Bende LGA, party chieftains from across Abia State, stake holders and the executive governor of Abia State. The blaring of syrene from the governor's convoy, the stern looking military men that accompanied him, the unruly behavior of the hired crowd was also a cause for concern. Hours after their departure, gun shots filled t

PRESIDENT OF IGBO EXTRACTION: DO NDIGBO NEED ALL THESE UNSOLICITED LECTURES OR TUTORIALS?

PRESIDENT OF IGBO EXTRACTION:  DO NDIGBO NEED ALL THESE UNSOLICITED LECTURES OR TUTORIALS?   By: Sam Onwuemeodo The Igbo never lectured or counseled other parts of the Country, on how they would behave or act before producing those who had led the Country as Presidents. The Igbo  never lectured or tutored the North, the South West and South South, before they produced Presidents for the nation, at one time or the other. And the question now is; Do the Igbo need all these unsolicited and irritating lectures or tutorials from other parts of the country , to produce the next President of the Country, like others had done severally before now? The answer is NO. I see these needless lectures as mere blackmail.  There was never a time, and I stand to be  contradicted , the Igbo  met, either visually or physically and decided to form either the Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra, (MASSOB) with Ralph Uwazuruike as the anchor man or to form the Indigenous People of Biaf
