The report on capital importation into the country, compiled by the Central Bank of Nigeria, was released on Friday by the NBS. It captures the total Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), portfolio investment and other types of investments into the country in a year the global economy suffered a terrible battering as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. . The total value of capital inflow for the year fell to $9.7 billion, from $24 billion in 2019, representing a decline of 59.7 per cent. It was the lowest in at least four years. More foreign capital inflows came through “other investments”, followed by FDI, and Portfolio Investment, the report said. Benjamin Okezie Kalu , this morning had an inspection visit to monitor the speed of the site clearing for the construction of the Nigeria Immigration Services Divisional Office in Bende LGA, which he attracted for his constituency.  You will recall that two days ago he was visited by the Comptroller of Immigration services Abia State and his team from the head quarters . The visit was at the instance of the controller general of the Nigerian Immigration service to assertain the true location of the proposed divisional office in Bende. On arrival, the immigration boss in Abia State S. O Ingini went straight to the country home of Rep. Benjamin Kalu the spokesman of the house of representatives, who took him on a tour of the project site.
