Apc Sacks OUK, Set To Declare Godswil Akpabio Consensus Candidate for Senate President

In what appears to be a major setback for the ambition of Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, the All Progressive Congress has suspended the senator representing Abia North thereby putting an end to his Senate Presidency ambition.

Sen Orji Uzor Kalu has been accused of engaging in anti party activities in the last election where he openly campaigned for the APP gubernatorial candidate to the detriment of the All Progressive Congress.

Rising from a meeting held in Owerri the Imo state capital, the APC south east stakeholders resolved to discipline erring members of the party who sabotaged the party in the last election.

However, it is rumoured that the preferred candidate for the Senate Presidency is Sen Godswil Akpabio.

Senator Ali Ndume has disclosed that senator Godswill Akpabio is the president's preferred candidate to clinch the senate presidency seat.

Ndume said: “As you can see, I'm leading the campaign for Akpabio, because he is the president's preferred candidate.

“We have to put the interest of the country, the party, above any other interest.”
