ASEPP CONGRATULATES HIGH CHIEF IKECHI EMENIKE, OTHERS ON THEIR UNIVERSITY COUNCIL APPOINTMENTS



ASEPP  CONGRATULATES HIGH CHIEF  IKECHI EMENIKE, OTHERS ON THEIR UNIVERSITY COUNCIL APPOINTMENTS 

The Association of South East Professors and Professionals(ASEPP)  monday evening congratulated High Chief Ikechi Emenike and others  on their appointment  as the Chairmen of Council of the Universities across the country. High chief Ikechi Emenike was made Council Chairman for the University of Nigeria. 
 

The federal government had only recently reconstituted and announced the appointment into the Council of a number of universities in the country with notable politicians and academics  taking plum positions in these universities. Some of the appointed Council Chairmen alongside High chief Emenike  includes erstwhile INEC Chairman,  Prof.  Attahiru Jega, immediate past former VC of FUNAI, Prof Chinedum Nwajiuba and  former minister for State for education,  Prof. Anthony Anwuka amongst many others.

In a release  signed by the convener of ASEPP,  Prof Victor Ukaogo and  public relations officer,  Prof  (Mrs) Florence Orabueze , ASEPP   thanked the President,  Mohammadu Buhari  for  the appointment of these academics and professionals of Igbo extraction.  The apex organisation of University teachers in the southeast asked the appointees to   deploy their wealth of experience in  carrying out their duties to justifythe trust reposed on them by the President. With particular reference to High Chief Ikechi Emenike,  the release said that 'he has paid his dues in Nigerian politics  as he has empowered so many of his subordinates in diverse ways'. It is in public domain that the High chief has continually impacted on his environment and wished that he takes this record  of achievement to the university of Nigeria. 

The organisation further affirmed that professors Anwuka and Nwajiuba are among a cream of creative administrators that the southeast is proud of and wished them well in their new assignments. The release further said that the organisation pledged to work with the new appointees in ways that will uplift University education in the region and in the country.
