Abia state government has urged teachers in the state to resume classes, by March 1, 2020, saying that it had paid one million Naira between December 2020 and January 2021, to settle arrears of salaries, owed teachers in the state Teachers in the state had gone on an indefinite strike to press home the demand for the payment of arrears of salaries owed them. Commissioner for Information, Chief John Okiyi Kalu, who disclosed this in a statement, explained that the government is committed to the payment of the outstanding arrears of salaries and urged the teachers to reciprocate the gesture by resuming duties on March 1. Obiano Stopped From Boarding His Flight Back To Nigeria By USA Authorities The Anambra state governor, Chief Willie Obiano has been prevented from returning back to Nigeria by the USA authorities.  According to report, Obiano had made an unofficial trip to the USA and has stayed there for a while but was slated to depart from Atlanta Georgia airport en route Nigeria when authorities prevented him for reasons yet to be uncovered. A close source among the governor’s entourage who pleaded anonymity to the press revealed that Chief Willie Obiano had a rough encounter with the airport authorities which led to an escalated argument that culminated in the USA authorities denying him access to board the Nigerian bound flight.
