South East Forum of Former L.G Chairmen Declare Support for President Tinubu

As the countdown to the 2027 general elections continues, the political landscape in Nigeria is witnessing an interesting turn of events. 

The latest development comes from the South-East region, where former local government chairmen have declared their support for the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led federal government.


This declaration of support was made during a courtesy visit by the South-East Forum of Former Local Government Chairmen to the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu. 

The former chairmen, representing different political parties, came together to pledge their loyalty to the President and show their readiness to work for his reelection in 2027.


Their visit to the Deputy Speaker, who also doubled as a former local government chairman of Bende local government area in Abia State, is a testament to his outstanding performance at the legislative level. 

But beyond that, it is a clear indication of the ripple effect of the good governance being championed by President Tinubu.


Speaking on behalf of the group, the former chairman of Umunneochi Local Government, Dr. Frank Osita, expressed their delight to present themselves to the Deputy Speaker Rt Hon Benjamin Kalu and commend him for his achievements. 

He also highlighted the purpose of their forum, which is to unite former grassroots leaders from the South-East region and harness their collective experiences and influence for the greater good of the region.


At the heart of their mission is a renewed commitment to align the South-East region with the opportunities embedded in the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu. 

This agenda, as championed by the Deputy Speaker through his Renewed Hope Partners (RHP), is aimed at showcasing the legacies of the President and his administration.


The former chairmen also recognized the crucial role they play in community mobilization and development at the grassroots level, which makes their support for the President even more significant. 

They are well aware of the positive impact the Tinubu government has had on the nation and are eager to contribute their quota towards its continued success.


This show of support from the former local government chairmen is a clear indication that the South-East region is poised to embrace the opportunities and benefits that come with being aligned with the Tinubu government. 

They understand that with the right leadership, Nigeria can reach its full potential and achieve the promised change that the people have been yearning for.
