ABIA COMMUNITY RESCUED FROM DECADES OF DEGRADATION

SUCURE HAS FINALLY COME TO THE PEOPLE OF AMORJI IMENYI AND AKOLI IMENYI.

..........𝒂𝒔 𝒃𝒐𝒕𝒉 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒆𝒔 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒆𝒏 𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒏𝒆𝒅 𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒐 𝒂 𝒎𝒂𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒖𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒔𝒊𝒕𝒆

Today the people of Amorji Imenyi are in a jubilant mood as they heave a sigh of relief.

For decades the people of Amorji Imenyi have suffered dilapidated infrastructures, lack of basic amenities and inaccessible roads.

It even gets worse during the rainy seasons when they get completely cutoff from neighbouring communities and the entire outside world due to overflowing rivers and non existent motorable roads.

The situation got worse in the last decade which has forced a lot of people from the community to relocate to other parts of the country in other to ply their trade or to seek for greener pastures.

This unfortunate situation has made Amorji Imenyi to suffer huge economic loses because businesses were forced to relocate elsewhere and harvested agricultural produce were left to decay and rot at the expenses of the farmers due to lack of motorable roads to transport their farm produce from Amorji Imenyi community to the markets in neighboring communities and other parts of Abia State.

Earlier this year, bulldozers and other earth moving equipments were mobilized to the community and upon further inquiries, the people were informed that Rep Benjamin Kalu, the member representing Bende Federal Constituency had attracted the construction of the only access road to Amorji Imenyi community from Akoli Imenyi.

Some of the indigenes were skeptical that this could be a white elephant project which could be abandoned within weeks, noting that since the creation of Abia State, the government has never considered the plight of Umuimenyi people.

while others were optimistic that the project will be completed in due time cos it is coming from Rep Benjamin Kalu.

Today, the entire area has been turned into a massive construction site. From Akoli Imenyi to Amorji Imenyi, the contractor is not resting at all, they are working over time to meet up with the delivery date.

During an interview with the engineer handling the road project, Mr Adeboye Adeniyi reiterated the contractor's resolve to complete the road project by December. They have been working round the clock to meet up with the due date.

Any visitors to Amorji Imenyi will notice the large number of equipments, workers and the steady supply of materials at the construction site.

Residents of Umuimenyi are in a jubilant mood cos Amorji Imenyi community has been opened up to the world, all thanks to the decision they made in 2019 when they voted massively for Hon Benjamin Kalu thereby sending him to the national assembly to fight for their interests.

Rep Benjamin Kalu is poised to deliver more dividends of democracy and for the people of Umuimenyi to consolidate on their current gains, we all have to put hands together to support the reelection of Rep Benjamin Kalu come 2023 cos "one good tenure deserves another".

*To reelect Ben Kalu 2023 is a task that must be done!!!*

Nigeria and the road ahead

Image
. By Taiwo Akerele In the last few years the Buhari administration has come handy to save the states from fiscal collapse using different tools such as direct intervention through grants, direct ways and means from the Central bank of Nigeria (CBN), COVID-19 loans, SIFTAS loans, agriculture support loans otherwise referred to as Anchor Borrower program, BOI loans, food supply from the national stock and other enormous palliatives. All these where done without consideration for political party affiliation, however what is amusing is that most of the governors, particularly from the opposition states, never disclosed to their people how the APC/Buhari government has been of tremendous help to their states. Indeed, history beckons and the records shall speak for itself. It has been quite harrowing in the last few months attempting to reconcile how Nigeria federalism seemed to have collapsed irretrievably. This is stemming from the fact that most Nigerians believe, even though erroneously

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for approving all the monies accruable to the Niger Delta states since1999. Wike made the commendation while speaking at the commissioning of the Doctor Nabo Graham Douglas Law School built by the Rivers state government on Friday. Wike commended the president for not playing politics with the money despite being in a different political party. He stated, “Monies that were not paid since 1999, the 13% deductions, Mr. President approved and paid all of us from Niger Delta states. “For me, it will be unfair not to say to the public. It is not from FAAC money it is the money paid to me as Rivers State, Delta State, Akwa Ibom State, Edo State and Bayelsa State. “So I want to sincerely, from my heart and on behalf of the government and people of the state, thank Mr. President for this because as an opposition gov
