APC, THE 18TH JUNE 2022 TSUNAMI MEETING AND THE EMERGING ABIA REBIRTH.

Yesterday marked a great day in Abia APC family as the bigwigs of the party converged alongside several dignitaries and supporters at the country home of Hon Emeka Atuma, the Abia central senatorial candidate for the 2023 elections in Oboro Ikwuano Umuahia. Hours after the tsunami-like meeting, critical permutations abound on the significance of the gathering given the attendance of critical stakeholders to the meeting.

Led in attendance to the meeting was the indefatigable leader and gubernatorial flag bearer of the APC in the state High chief Ikechi Emenike, silent achiever and cerebral state APC chairman Dr Kingsley Ononogbu, the Amazon and deputy chief whip of the HoR, Barr. Nkiru Onyejiocha as well as the Oracle of Parliament and spokesman of the HoR, Hon. Ben Kalu, the Bende Tribal Chief. Others in attendance were the amiable Hon. Emeka Nwogu, the restless but confirmed nightmare of Abia governor and minority leader of Abia House of Assembly, Hon. Chijioke Chukwu and the hugely talented pioneer and immediate past state chairman of the party chief Donatus Nwankpa amongst others. For the greater majority of the observers, the presence of the past chairman was indicative of a closing of ranks in the run up to the general election in the state.

The meeting was a lifting of the veil of confusion and a confirmation of rebirth of the party in the state. The speeches made by the respective stakeholders signposted a new resolve, a new commitment and passion to extricate the state from the backwaters of development through the expected electoral victory next year.

The stakeholders converged in harmony and unity to reason together and also inform the general public of the determination to rescue the state from years of slavery and bondage.

Whereas High Chief Ikechi Emenike spoke appreciatively on the resilience and stewardship of members up to this moment awaiting the victory at the polls; he showed satisfaction on the love and solidarity of the community on him,

the Chairman of APC in Abia State Dr Kingsley Ononugbo would want a large and indivisible family devoid of interest-driven rancour if the party will get to the destination of choice. The chairman in thanking members for their support harped on collaboration for party growth as it engenders people oriented and progressive leadership.

Furthermore, the chief host, Chief Emeka Atuma, spoke highly of High Chief Ikechi Emenike while admiring his simplicity and tenacity of purpose. He also had kind words of gratitude for Hon Benjamin Kalu and Hon. Nkiru Onyejiocha for their presence, ruggedness and commitment to the party. In the same manner, Chief Nwankpa admonished members to embrace unity and love as a necessary tool for positive electoral harvest.

The yesterday event clearly signalled fresh air and a new wave and commitment to unity and love that harbour in its underbelly the progressive ideology of victory needed as the party strives to unbundle the PDP in the state.

While this meeting has put the APC in the position to trudge on sure-footedly to the next level, the ruling PDP in the state remain in quandary and dilemma as the self-inflicted injury exacts greater price of pain on the soul of their party. Needless to guess that as the time ticks, they are comforted that they have done their bit and very much willing to allow APC correct the years of the locust brought upon Abia state by them.
