CANCEL STAGGERED ELECTIONS IN 2023 - KALU

Senate Chief Whip Orji Uzor Kalu has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to consider holding the 2023 general elections on the same day. He said this would reduce cost and rigging. Kalu said the presidential election, National Assembly, governorship and House of Assembly elections are better held simultaneously on the same day rather than holding them on different days. A statement he personally signed in Abuja reads: “INEC should conduct the 2023 elections same day as staggered elections are unnecessarily expensive. The conduct of the elections in different days gives room for rigging, thuggery and several vices. It also puts the lives of the voters and INEC officials in intense danger. “When elections are conducted on the same day, popular candidates will emerge because everyone will be busy in their polling units and zones, unlike on different days. NNAMDI KANU - LETS SETTLE OUT OF COURT - OHANAEZE.

Nigeria’s president, Muhammadu Buhari had been advised to seek an ‘out of court’ settlement in the case of IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu. Apex-Igbo group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, in a statement made available to POLITICS NIGERIA on Sunday, called on South-Eastern Governors and Igbo leaders of repute to prevail on the President to seek an ‘Out-of-court’ settlement with Kanu in order to maintain peace. Kanu is set to appear in court on Monday for a continuation of his trial. It can be recalled that the embattled secessionist leader jumped bail and fled Nigeria in 2017 but was brought back to Nigeria earlier this month after being captured in Kenya. The statement signed by Okechukwu Isiguzoro, secretary-general of the group, read; “We are calling for the quick political intervention of Southeastern Governors and Igbo politicians to persuade President Muhammadu Buhari to “Out-Of-Court” settlement in the court case of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu”. The Fulani tribe are a minority in Nigeria. They make up less than 10% of the population , and the bulk of their numbers are foreigners who are mostly emmigrants from other West African state . However , despite their small numbers ,the Fulani have warmed their way into the echelon of powers in Nigeria . They control the security architecture, finance, wealth and justice department, they pioneered the Nigerian Constitution, they control alll entry and exit points boundaries et Al and above all ,they control the crude oil in my ancestors backyard's. The Fulani are very lovely people , they have a nice culture , are preety and handsome. However dangerous politics and the lust for power mixed with religion had tainted the once lovely Fulani tribe . The educated Fulani (western and Arabic educated) are the major culprits here . NONE PAYMENT OF SALARIES - ABIA WORKERS TO PROTEST IN UMUAHIA ON THURSDAY

Arochukwu Local government area witnessed a large turn out of protesters who were not happy with the Abia state Government over its unwillingness to pay workers salaries for over two years now. Wondering if they were no longer part of Abia state. Majority of the protesting workers were st aff members of the Abia State College of Education(Technical) Arochukwu, who had taken to the streets of the local government area to protest 31months unpaid salary arrears. The protesters were seen carrying various placards with different inscriptions such as, “pay ASCETA our 31months salary”, ‘Government hear our cry” our children are out of school”etc. PHOTO: Protesting staff members of ASCETA Speaking to newsmen about the protest was Kelvin Egefi, the chairman of Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union(COEASU).
