EFCC CONFISCATES T.A ORJI'S PROPERTIES

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) says it has traced some property suspected to be from proceeds of fraud to former Abia governor, Sen. Theodore Orji. Spokesperson of the commission, Mr Dele Oyewale disclosed this on Thursday in a telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Enugu. Oyewale said the property which were sealed in Umuahia, the state capital on June 24, 2020 were traced to the former governor in the course of ongoing investigations of Orji’s alleged financial malfeasance. Recall that the property sealed by the EFCC included, the Abia Mall which accommodates ShopRite and other business entities, Benac Hotels opposite Broadcasting Corporation of Abia. Also sealed was a housing estate situated at former Umuahia Main Market. “Our investigations show that the property belongs to Theodore Orji and as part of the investigations, we have to seal them. Former Abia state gubernatorial candidate of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Dr Alex Otti, was on Wednesday morning, spotted at the residence of the Chief Whip of the Senate,  Senator Orji Uzor Kalu.  This is coming barely 24 hours  after Senator Kalu was elected the Chairman of the caucus of All Progressives Congress ( APC)  Abia state chapter Town Crier Magazine recalls that Otti was rumoured to have decamped to the APC to pursue his gubernatorial ambition after failing in his two outings under the APGA.

A video shared online shows the Moment a man who is said to be a Nigerian Pastor climbed a High Tension Electric Pole, wants to Jump Down in Abia state. In the video some villagers can be seen wondering what is wrong with man, a man is heard asking some the Residents to leave the vicinity to avoid Danger. According to reports, The alleged pastor said he needs the state governor and enough crowd before he jumps. A social media user identified as Joe Medikals who shared the video wrote: “This is happening right now at Uratta, Aba, Abia  State.  Pastor climbs high tension and wants to jump.”

Gov. Godwin Obaseki joins PDP with all his supporters (see list)

The Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, alongside his deputy, Philip Shuaibu have on Friday defected to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. We gathered that 14 house members, 18 local government chairmen and 196 councillors have joined Obaseki in defecting to the Opposition party. It will be recalled that Obaseki was disqualified by his former party, the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC from participating in the party’s Guber primaries coming up on June 22nd. Miffed by the development, Obaseki resigned membership of the party. However, he had a series of meetings the leadership of the PDP earlier this week. He met with the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, the Governor of Sokoto, Aminu Tambuwal, the Governor of Akwa Ibom, Emmanuel Udom and the national chairman of the PDP, Uche Secondus to finalize on a deal.

Members of the Abia State inter ministerial committee for COVID-19, on Wednesday 17/06/2020 stormed the Commercial city of Aba on enforcement visit and sealed Chapel of Answer Church along jubilee road as well as the electronic plaza in Ariaria international market.  IGBERE TV gathered that the team which was led by the Chairman of the Committee who is also the secretary to the state Government (SSG), Barr Chris Ezem, visited two churches in the city, the central mosque along Hospital road and also Ariaria international market, expressed worries over the level of compliance to COVID-19 prevention and control guidelines issued by the state government, and appealed to residents to take the fight against the disease serious to avert looming danger. Nigerian-born Dr. Wendy Okolo becomes the FIRST BLACK WOMAN to bag a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Texas. She's an aerospace research engineer in the Intelligent Systems Division at NASA Ames Research Center She is the first Black woman to obtain a Ph.D. degree in aerospace engineering from University of Texas at Arlington. She is also the Special Emphasis Programs Manager for Women at Ames.
